The Farm Service Agency announces that producers interested in applying for the Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) or the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) for losses occurring before October 1, 2011, have until, the earlier of 30 days after livestock loss becomes apparent, but no later than December 29, 2011 to file a notice of loss.
Dairy producers who are enrolled in the Milk Income Loss Contract Program (MILC) and want to change their start date for 2012 MILC payments to October have until September 14, 2011 to request the change.
Eligible producers who lost livestock, honeybees, farm-raised fish, or harvested and purchased feed due to adverse weather before October 1, 2011, can sign up for the USDA Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) by filing a notice of loss by the earlier of 30 days of the loss occurring or before October 31, 2011.
