As planning preparations for crop season 2012 get underway, Matthew Peplinski, Marathon County Farm Service Agency's County Executive Director, reminds producers that enrollment for the 2012 Direct and Counter-cyclical Program (DCP) and the Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) program will begin on January 23, 2012, and continue through June 1, 2012. This is the final year of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (Farm Bill).

Eligible producers with livestock, purchased or harvested feed, honey bees, or farm-raised fish losses due to disease, adverse weather, or other conditions between January 1, 2011 and September 30, 2011, have until January 30, 2012, to submit an application for payment for 2011 losses for the USDA Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program (ELAP) and the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP).
