MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A new poll shows that rural Wisconsinites are more satisfied with the way things are going in the state than urban and suburban residents.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Badger Poll released Friday shows that 32 percent of urban residents are satisfied with how things are going in the state. Thirty seven percent of suburban residents and 38 percent of rural residents said they were satisfied.

A majority of those polled, 55 percent, say rural residents receive less than their fair share of state resources. Only 21 percent thought urban areas got less than their fair share.

The random telephone poll of 556 people was conducted between June 17 and July 10. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percentage points.
