Wisconsin Farm Service Agency (FSA) Marathon county service center will be hosting an annual open house on Wednesday, July 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. FSA county office staff will be sharing information on FSA’s County Committee Election process and the importance of participating.
"The County Committees help deliver FSA farm programs at the local level. Farmers who serve on county committees are serving other farmers by working to make FSA agricultural programs meet the needs of local producers," stated Matthew Peplinski, Marathon county executive director.
The open house is an opportunity for local producers and landowners to visit the FSA county office to find out more about the election process and how they can make a difference.
The nomination period for this year’s election is from June 15 to August 1. There is plenty of time for local farmers and landowners to get involved.
