Frost is beginning to blanket much of the area, signaling the end of the growing season.
Meteorologist Jeremy Tabin says Thursday night, some communities in the northwoods dipped below freezing.
He says it's just a little early for frost.
"The northern half of the state, starting around mid-September, is when the first frost on average occurs but in Central Wisconsin it's usually toward the last week of September on average and into early October when the first frost happens," says Tabin.
He says, for the most part, Central Wisconsin has dodged a bullet for now, but the clock is ticking and it won't be long before our growing season ends.
If you have any plants you want to protect, you should either cover them or bring them inside.
