Town officials and concerned residents are invited to a forum Thursday, December 1 to learn more about frac sand mining.
The Wisconsin Farmers Union and Wisconsin Towns say spots are still available for the meeting. The forum will feature educational sessions on what the frac sanding industry is all about and why it's getting more popular in Wisconsin.
Legal and environmental experts will be on hand to help understand how to take the right steps for their towns as they learn to deal with this new industry. According to WisconsinAgConnection.com, topics throughout the day will include zoning, non-metallic mining ordinances, moratoriums and developers agreements.
Registration is $25 per person and includes lunch. For more information or to sign-up, call 715-723-5561.
