Farm Tech Crews Work to Repair Storm Damage

A major cleanup effort is underway at the "Farm Technology Days" site. A wind storm dealt a big blow to the set up for Wisconsin's largest farm show, set to begin next week.

High winds blew through Seehafer Acres on Highway 97 just north of Marshfield Friday night.

Dozens of large tents were brought down, many destroyed. Several trailer buildings were blown off their blocks and yards of electrical wiring was torn out of the ground.

Much of the setup work that had been completed over the past few weeks was destroyed, but volunteers are working overtime to have the grounds ready for the show.

"If we feel we're getting in a tight squeeze, we'll move into 24-hour day mode. We'll get some extra workers and work some crews through the night, but we'll be ready", said Mike Wildeck from the U-W Extension, Marathon County.

"Farm Technology Days" goes from July 12th through the 14th. About 80,000 people are expected to attend the 3 day show.
