Bacon can be just as deadly as a pack of cigarettes. At least that's what one national group is saying with a new billboard.
The group The Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine is putting it up in our nations bacon capitol, Iowa.
But the group behind the claim is known for promoting meat-free diets.
With the billboard, the group hopes to show potential dangers behind eating processed meats.
The group claims consuming just under two ounces of bacon....or less than two strips a day, can greatly increase your risk of getting cancer, but dietitians say that while there is research connecting processed meats to cancer...bacon is only a small part of it.
The same group erected a controversial billboard ranting against cheese in Wisconsin.
