Ball's backup runs strong at Wisconsin spring game

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Melvin Gordon rushed 30 times for 159 yards and a touchdown as Wisconsin rested Montee Ball at its spring game on Saturday.
Gordon led the Cardinal to a 21-10 victory over the White team.
Ball, a finalist for the Heisman Trophy last season, who sat out as a precaution.
Middle linebacker Chris Borland, who took limited snaps this spring due to a tender hamstring, joined fellow starting linebackers senior Mike Taylor (hip) and junior Ethan Armstrong (hip) on the sidelines.
