Send One Dead in Waupaca County Accident

An 82-year-old man is dead after an accident on Sunday morning in Waupaca County.

According to news release from the Waupaca County Sheriff's office, it happened just after 11. Authorities say the man was traveling east on Highway 161 in the Town of Union, just northwest of Manawa, when he entered the shoulder, and over-corrected. They say the vehicle came back onto the roadway, sliding sideways, eventually hitting a power pole. It caused the vehicle to spin, coming to rest on the driver's side.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. His name is not being released at this time.
