Organ Donation Scavenger Hunt

An event in the Wausau area is bringing awareness to organ donation.

The 6th Annual Northcentral Wisconsin Donate Life Scavenger Hunt was held at the Rose Garden in Wausau on Saturday.

A total of thirteen teams participated in the event. Team members were asked to perform tasks like drinking a glass of water while standing on your head and retreive various items such as a rubex cube.

An organizer from the event says this is an incredible event for the community and spreads the word about organ donation.

Katie Kuehnhold says: "So as theyre scavenging or doing their tasks lists they are also promoting organ tissue donation by giving a stranger a "Yes I Will" card to register to be an organ and tissue donor."

Sandy McCrory says: "Theres thousands of people that die every year waiting for an organ. What better chance is there? How many times can you get to save a life?"

Newschannel 7's very own Chad Franzen was also on hand at the event.
