The completed reports on the 11-year-old Weston girl who died of an untreated diabetic condition are expected to reach the Marathon County District Attorney's office next week.
Everest Metro Police had finished their investigation last week, but District Attorney Jill Fastad says follow-up work needs to be done before deciding whether to prosecute Madeline Neumann's parents.
Neumann died Sunday, March 23.
Police say her parents opted to pray for her instead of seeking medical attention while she was sick.
Falstad says she'll take several factors into consideration, including duration of illness, progression and symptoms of the illness, actual or inferred knowledge of her caregivers, observations made by other witnesses in the case, context and circumstances surrounding Neumann's death including the role of the familiy's beliefs, and whether there are legal impediments to issuing the charges.
