The defense attorney for Dale Neumann says the Weston couple's religious faith remains stronger than ever following the sentence handed down by Judge Vincent Howard.
Jay Kronenwetter says both are focusing on the future, and very aware that this is just the beginning of what is expected to be a very long process as the case makes it's way through the court system.
While the Neumann's both spoke during the sentencing, neither one had much to say once outside the courtroom.
Prosecutor Lamont Jacobson says while the sentence wasn't exactly what the State of Wisconsin wanted, in the end justice was served.
Kronenwetter says both Dale and Leilani tell him, when it is all said and done, they're confident justice will prevail.
Kronenwetter says he expects the case to make it all the way to the state supreme court.

While,I personally think that doing NOTHING was wrong in MY eyes; IT IS NOT FOR US TO JUDGE ANYONE!!!! That is GOD's JOB! Also, I do NOT believe the courts should interfere in RELIGIOUS beliefs!!! After all, What EVER HAPPENED to the SEPARATION of CHURCH and State this country was FOUNDED on????? This SETS a BAD PRESEDENCE! I think beliefs (whether WE consider them wrong or right is for the PARENTS and CHURCH to instill NOT THE COURTS! QUIT INTERFERING!!!
For the long haul it may be over but in the end Kara can never be brought back and that is what the neumanns have to deal with but out scott free in society is not the answer in my eyes. i was sick to my stomach having to hear the losly sentence they got and to learn not only did they take her life then lie in the court of law to take a vacation, what is that all about? they need to pay the price of the crime that they commited just like any other human being. those poor children that have to deal with this and to continue to live with their sick parents. what a sham.
I am so sick and angry with this sentencing! That child was a gift from God for them to take care of not kill! When the "mom" got sick during her trial, she was treated right there by an EMT, they should have let her stay sick, die if thats what it led to, that's what she did to an innocent child! She came out of the court room with a big smile on her face, my God! it disgusts me! They could afford 2 houses and a business, but we had to pay for their attorneys?? Kara's illness did not happen overnight, somewhere someone with a brain should have noticed it wasn't getting any better before this all happened. Judge Howard is going to have this hanging over him for a long time. They sure had him snowed!
