A Big Share Your Holidays Thank You!
After lagging behind last year's total, donors came through and gave a record breaking amount to the annual Share Your Holidays food drive. A BIG SHARE YOUR HOLIDAYS THANK YOU!
Well, where do I start.
You set a new record in donations to Share Your Holidays this year. $9257! With the bank's $5000 match, a total of $14,257 will goes to the Salvation Army and Neighbor's place food pantries. That brings the total to $62,000 over five years. WOW! And just two days before the end of this year's drive, we were a couple grand behind last year's total. All I had to do was get on the air once and mention that and you came through in a big way!
As for food, while it's more difficult to actually to say how much was collected, it does appear to be at least as much, if not more than 2006.
A couple of specific thank you's have to go out.
First, to the River Valley Bank for being a great partner, again in this effort. They are the very definition of a good corporate neighbor.
Next to the Wausau area Shell Gas Stations who joined with us this year. Welcome aboard!
But the biggest thanks of all has to go out to all of you who donated. From a single penny or can of beans to $1000 or a truck load of food, thank you to everyone who opened their hearts once again. As it does every year, your generosity overwhelms me. And it will help countless people not just have a Happier Holiday, it will give them the basic need of food.
