ID Theft Reports Down in Wisconsin

Posted: 02/22/2008 - While the crime continues to increase across the country, the number of ID theft reports has dropped for another year in Wisconsin. The state had 2,450 cases reported to the Federal Trade Commission last year, a 3.4 percent decline from 2006. Nationally, complaints of identity theft rose 5 percent to 258,427 in 2007.

Doyle Says Youth Smoking Hits Lowest Point Ever in State

Posted: 02/22/2008 - Governor Doyle says illegal sales of cigarettes and tobacco to young people in Wisconsin has hit an all-time low. Doyle says the 2007 sales survey shows that the noncompliance rate was just 4.5 percent. That compares with 5.5 percent in 2006, the previous low.

NEW INFO: Jury Finds Mark Jensen Guilty of Murder in '98 Death of Wife

Updated: 02/21/2008 - A jury that convicted a Kenosha man Thursday of poisoning his wife with antifreeze and then suffocating her says the letter she left behind was a critical part of the case. In the letter, 40-year-old Julie Jensen said she suspected her husband might be trying to kill her, and if she died, it should be given to police.

Jurors in Jensen Case Resume Deliberations

Posted: 02/21/2008 - A jury deciding whether Mark Jensen killed his wife has resumed its third day of deliberations, after spending nearly 24 hours behind closed doors over the last two days. Several times jurors have asked for pieces of evidence. They include Julie Jensen's letter that she asked a neighbor to give to police if anything were to happen to her.

Lawmakers Consider Psychological Exams for Police

Posted: 02/21/2008 - A bill that would require pyschological testing for police officers in Wisconsin is getting a lukewarm reception from a legislative committee. The bill comes in response to last fall's mass shooting in Crandon. Tyler Peterson, an off-duty police officer, killed six people with his SWAT assault rifle before killing himself.
