A major road project on one of Wausau's busiest thoroughfares is nearing completion. Friday, crews reopened the street to four lanes. It has been reduced to one lane in each direction since April.
The multi-million dollar renovation project focused on upgrades and safety measure for bicycles.
The project is expected to cost $2.9 million. Eighty percent of the project will be funded by federal transportation fund. The remaining cost will be paid by state and local funding.
During the week of Oct. 6, some short-term lane closures will be necessary so crews can complete miscellaneous work between Kent Street and Division Street.
