In the heat of a playoff chase, the woodchucks have lost one of their big guns.

NewsChannel 7 has learned that J.D. Davis will miss the rest of the season after an auto accident on Thursday.

Davis suffered a broken clavicle as a result of the accident.

Davis and a couple of teammates were on their way to Athletic Park Thursday to catch the team bus to Madison when they hit another car. The two teammates are unknown but didn't suffer any injuries, nor did anyone in the other car.

The Cal-State Fullerton sophomore was hitting .344 with 3 homers and 26 RBI's and on the mound was 4-0 in 5 starts with a 2.10 ERA and 33 K's in 30 innings.
