Woman Pleads No Contest In Boyfriend's Death

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) -- A Minnesota woman sentenced to life in prison for killing her ex-husband has pleaded no contest to charges she killed her boyfriend in Wisconsin.

Forty-year-old Angelina O'Mara pleaded no contest Thursday to first-degree intentional homicide of her boyfriend, Michael Pies.

The St. Cloud Times reports O'Mara was sentenced in Wisconsin's Ashland County to life in prison with no possibility of extended supervision or parole.

In December, O'Mara got a life sentence after pleading guilty in the 2011 shooting death of her ex-husband, James O'Mara.

Days after James O'Mara's death, Pies was found shot dead in an Ashland, Wis., motel.

The two sentences will be served consecutively, meaning O'Mara likely will never serve any time in Wisconsin. She was also ordered to pay $2,600 in restitution to the victim's family.
