With the deadline looming for enrollment in the Affordable Care Act, a local insurance company says Monday night will be a busy one.
Security Health Plan out of Marshfield has seen a great rise in enrollment in the past few months, and the weeks leading up to the deadline. In fact, the Director of Marketing says a couple of weeks ago they were averaging 200 applications per day, now, they're seeing about 500 per day.
He says with the deadline approaching, they could reach 1,000 applicants just on Monday.
"Our enrollment season has gone very well, we've seen tremendous growth in our individual product lines," Marty Anderson said, "as of last December we had about 800 people in those product lines, we're somewhere around 25,000 today, so we've seen an excellent growth and we've been seeing that people have not been having trouble getting through the healthcare.gov website as well."
He says many are enrolling this late are younger applicants. If you do not begin the process by midnight Monday, you will not be able to enroll through the marketplace until November 15th, and coverage from that enrollment date would not begin until January 1st of 2015.
