Wisconsin Teachers Union Endorses Falk

Wisconsin's largest statewide teachers union has endorsed Democrat Kathleen Falk in the possible recall election against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

The Wisconsin Education Association Council said Wednesday it is backing Falk after going through its selection process that included interviewing a number of potential candidates.

The teachers union was at the forefront of the fight last year against Walker's proposal that took away nearly all collective bargaining rights for teachers and most other public workers.

Falk is making the restoring of bargaining rights a lynchpin of her campaign.

Also on Wednesday, state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout entered the race as a Democrat. A number of other Democrats are considering running.

The state elections board is in the process of checking if there enough signatures to order a recall election.

Public Workers and Teachers have not caused the budget deficit - look around you and see the dollars being spent on subsidies and projects that are beyond what this State is capable of paying for. The spending continues under SCOTT WALKER, check the statistics. You are fooling yourself if think the budget has been balanced. Look at the taxpayer money that WISCONSIN is GIVING to out of state businesses to relocate to Wisconsin - SCOTT WALKER IS BIDDING WITH YOUR MONEY - TAXPAYER MONEY - PUBLIC MONEY - LOCAL GOVERNMENT MONEY - YOUR BUSINESS'S MONEY. He is subsidizing your competition with your money. This is NOW the established way to develop a business in Wisconsin and thoughout the United States. It is hypocritical as business states they do not want government involvement.

WEAC is supposedly all about the children so why is their only platform ever about wages and benefits? It's interesting that Falk hasn't once spoken about the poor grades our children get but is fighting to bring back collective bargaining? Who does she really represent? It's certainly not the kids although they love to use them as the face of their campaign.

Because you and imbobim look at WEAC as just the whole. It's made up of thousands of people who also have to buy groceries, pay taxes, and eventually retire--just like Republicans. You can't buy anything with chalk.

You may want to enroll your children in the Wausau School district if Weston is failing your children.

If your children are getting poor grades, maybe you should be looking for ways to work with your child's teacher to help improve them. There are many high quality teachers that work very hard to help the kids, unfortunately, some of those same kids go back to homes that foster an environment in which schooling ends at the 3:00 bell ring.
