Whether it's the deep fried food or the carnival rides, there truly is something for everyone at the 2012 Wisconsin Valley Fair.
The Wisconsin Valley Fairest of the Fair, Melanie Zernicke says she's proud to be a part of this year's action. This fellow 4-Her grew up on a dairy farm and is studying to be a veterinarian. So when she's asked what's her favorite part of the fair she always responds the livestock.
While the livestock is one of the most recognizable projects of the Jr. Fair, there are many other projects on display in the multi-purpose building. There you can see everything from cake decorating, to photography, and arts and crafts.
If you're looking to embrace your agricultural roots, don't forget to stop by the Farm Museum on the east side of the Exhibition Hall.
And just when you think you've seen it all at the fair, think again. This year the fair is proud to present a new attraction - the White Tigers. Their exhibit is on the west side of the fair grounds (behind the grandstand). There you can see 2 beautiful white tigers - the 12 year old mother (Gita - which is Asian for gift of angel) and her 18 month old son (Kozmo). For a small fee you can get a look at these magnificent creatures... and even feed them.
For the first time, the Marathon Co. 4-H Action Council is inviting you to participate in a 2 mile fun run/walk at the fair grounds. It's set for Saturday, Aug. 4th rain or shine. Registration is at 8 a.m. at the Youth Building. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. The cost is just $8.
Wisconsin Valley Fair is one of the oldest and largest agricultural fairs in Wisconsin.
