A sign that reads under new management may soon be hanging outside of Wisconsin Public Service.

Statements from both companies say Wisconsin Energy Corporation is buying Intregrys Energy Group - the parent company of WPS - which serves much of North Central Wisconsin. The deal is worth $9.1 billion.

The new company will be called WEC Energy Group and will serve 4.3 million customers across Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.

No layoffs are planned as part of the deal which must still be approved by several regulatory agencies.
