Sam Dekker's layup with sevens minutes to go in the Big Ten Title Game Sunday gave the Badgers a 41-39 lead with 7:03 to play.
Unfortunately, that would be Wisconsin's last field goal of the game.
Ohio State outscored Wisconsin 11 to 2 for the rest of the game, winning the championship 50-43.
Despite Sunday's poor shooting performance late in the game, Badger's coach Bo Ryan and company feel confident going into the NCAA tournament.
"Going into the tournament, they picked up for one another a lot better. They've done some really good things I think in order to have teammates to believe in them on defense. You've gotta believe in one another to be a good defensive team," said Ryan of his team.
"Then on offense, we've got to execute a little bit better. So we're going into the tournament, our guys earned a trip, let's see what we can do with it," said Ryan.
The 5th seeded Badgers open up NCAA tournament play on Friday in the West Region against 12th seeded Ole Miss. That game will be played in Kansas City with a scheduled tip off of 11:40 AM.
Ole Miss defeated Florida on Sunday in the SEC Title game to grab an automatic bid to the tournament.
