Wis. Furniture Company to Add 30-45 FT Jobs Next Year

A Wisconsin-based furniture maker is expected to add 30-45 full-time jobs within the next year at its Shawano County location.

According to WLUK-TV, KI reached an agreement with the Bonduel Village Board to add the jobs and in return the company will receive $75,000 to assist in creating the jobs at its manufacturing plant in the village.

Demand for the products or services that a company does is what should dictate if the company need to hire. A government,whether its a small village or the USA, should not be giving money to a company just for hiring people. The revenue brought in from the sale of the products determines how many employees are needed. Now, if there is a sudden increase in demand that would lead to the hiring of more people then a LOAN may be needed to help ramp up production. The extra revenue will pay the employees and a BANK will make the loan. No government should be giving taxpayer money to a company just to hire people if there is nothing for them to do. If the company has an increase in demand to justify the hiring of 30-40 people then they don't need $75k from the tax payer. The story does not mention any circumstance as to why the company cannot take a loan or how long the fulltime jobs will last. The $75k won't even last two months.
