MADISON, Wis.-- The Wisconsin State Patrol has launched a new drive to recruit troopers and inspectors.
The patrol is inviting anyone interested to fill out online applications at WiscJobs by Feb. 21 and take a multiple-choice exam scheduled at several locations around the state in February and March. Applicants will be notified of the results immediately. The most qualified applicants will move on. Previous recruit classes have ranged from 35 to 45 cadets.
The new class is set to begin training in July at the State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy. Training will last 23 weeks. Recruits who complete the training will be sworn in as either a trooper or an inspector with a starting salary of $19.95 per hour.
