Wis. Rapids Woman Injured in Weekend Crash

The Wood County Sheriff's Department says a 48-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman was injured after she struck a utility pole on County Road A at Sunset Road north of Pittsville.

The driver, Jayne Sheehy, was the sole occupant. The crash happened at 11:33 a.m. on Sunday.

According to a news release, when EMS crews arrived, power lines were across the vehicle and the vehicle was on its side. The jaws of life had to be used to removed the woman from the vehicle.

The crash is still under investigation.
