Wis. Rapids Woman Expected to Reach Plea Deal in OWI Crash

A 21-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman charged in a drunk driving crash that injured three of her passengers is expected to reach a plea deal with prosecutors on Dec. 9 meaning she'll avoid going to trial.

Investigators say Maci Siems was intoxicated when she crashed into telephone pole near the corner of 7th Street and Pepper Avenue in Wisconsin Rapids on August 29.

Officers responded to the crash just before 2 a.m.

According to court documents, a witness said the group has just left Johnny's Bar in Wisconsin Rapids.

Investigators say one passenger sustained a skull fracture, a broken cheek bone, possible punctured lung, two broken ankles and significant jaw and face injuries.

Siems was unconscious when police arrived, according to court documents.

According to a criminal to a criminal, a blood draw preformed at the hospital showed Siems had a blood alcohol concentration, or BAC of .184; more than two times over the legal limit for driving.

Siems is charged with two counts of injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle, two counts of operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, causing injuring while under the influence, and causing injury with a prohibited alcohol concentration greater than .15.
