Wis., Ill., Iowa to Hold Joint Forest Conference

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa officials are inviting forest landowners to a conference next month to learn more about management techniques, forest products and taxes.

The Tri-State Forestry Conference is scheduled for March 9 at the Sinsinawa Mound Center in Sinsinawa, Wis. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Illinois and Iowa's natural resource management agencies, the University of Illinois Extension, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa State University Department of Natural Resource Ecology and Management are putting on the conference.

The conference will focus on woodland and wildlife management, forest soils, forest products such as syrup and ginseng and timber taxes.
