Wild Ginseng Harvest to Start Next Week

The wild ginseng harvest begins September first. It's ginseng that's not tended or nurtured by humans.

You can learn more about the harvest by watching the video above. Wild ginseng is found across the state, but it's more prevalent in the southwest and western portions of the state. However, it can't be harvest on state or federally owned lands.

To learn more about the rules and regulations and to get a harvest license all you have to do is visit dnr.wi.gov or call 877-945-4236.

The harvest runs through November 1.
