It's the time when the most people shop for holiday gifts, black Friday, and the weekend that follows.
Before heading to the stores this year, you may want to rethink where you go, there may be some stores closer than you ever realized.
We all love a great deal, especially when shopping for gifts for loved ones. But, what many people don't realize is that you can do that shopping closer to home.
This Saturday is Small Business Saturday. That means shoppers can register their American Express Card anytime now through Saturday. Once you register the card, you'll receive a $25 credit good for registered small businesses, many of which are right here in Wausau.
That credit is only one perk to keeping your dollars local, it can bring stores closer to customers.
Nicole Chickering, Owner of Nicole's Boutique in downtown Wausau says that customer relationship has kept her business running for 15 years. "The big box retailers are not as personal on that level. We are able to do that because everyone here means something to us. There will definitely be sales this weekend. We want to make sure everyone is well taken care of. We want to make sure people stop in."
Nicole's and Campbell Haines clothing retailers are both taking part in the Small business Saturday opportunity. They say deals like that are great ways to get customers into their doors.
