There are a couple events going on this weekend that are not connected with celebrating our Nation's birth.
The 25th Annual Heart and Sole 2K and 5K run walk will be held in Pittsville Sunday.
All of the money that is raised will go to the Pittsville Fire Department for equipment and scholarships.
And a group of bike riders from Mosinee will be making a pit stop in Wausau this weekend.
The group is biking across the country to raise money for a cure for a rare disease called AT Disease.
The disease results in the loss of muscle control.
It starts in kids who are 2-years-old.
The 4,000 mile trek started in May in Washington, and is working its way towards Maine.
They will be at Oak Island Park as part of a walk run and biking event Sunday morning.
The event is scheduled to began at 8 a.m.
