This weekend brings a wide variety of family friendly fun to Northcentral Wisconsin.
The Grand Rapids Lions Club will be hosting their 2012 polar plunge. Brave souls will take a February swim to raise money for the Special Olympics. It runs from noon to 1:30pm with registration starting at 10:00am Saturday morning at the Lions Club on 36th treet north.
They'll also be taking a dip Saturday in Athens.
There, the swim is called "The Udder Plunge". It's a fundraiser for the Athens fair. The day long event also includes a snowshoe race, snow volleyball, a log sawing contest and sleigh rides.
The fun is at Urbach Park in Athens.
The next Charlie Daniels might just be in the Northwoods this weekend as Rhinelander is the site of the Old Time Fiddle Contest.
It's all part of the 32nd annual White Pine Jamboree Saturday at the Northwoods Banquet Center. Prizes will be awarded in Junior and Unlimited divisions.
Registration is at 3:00pm, with a jam session and the contest to follow. Contestants will have to bring their own fiddle.
Dora the Explorer will be making an appearance tomorrow in Stevens Point.

Kids ages 3-to-6 will enjoy games, crafts and songs while learning Spanish words with the little girl who travels the world with her cousin.
