Hundreds of motorcycle riders are continuing to celebrate the 8th annual firefighters MDA ride.
The two-day event helps raise money for research for muscular dystrophy, a disease that weakens muscles in the body.
Nearly 1,000 bikers got together to ride from Rothschild to Stratford for the 2011 Firefighters MDA Ride.
"This is incredible. Look at the great group of people here. The weather's alright. We're bouncing around the rain raising money for MDA. What more could we be doing?" Chris Coleman of Wausau said.
Organizers hope to raise between $30,000 and $40,000 from the event.
In its eight-year history, the ride has already raised $250,000 for the muscular dystrophy association.
"My favorite part is helping out the children and it's for a good cause and it's a great gathering of all these people to come together for this," Paula Kontney of Elderon said.
Bikers left the Harley-Davidson in Rothschild at 11 in the morning before finishing their ride at the Stratford Fire Department at noon.
"It was amazing watching all the bikes ride in from on top of the fire truck and getting pictures. We've never had this before in this community. It's actually really awesome," Tonia Ochoa, EMS coordinator at the Stratford Fire Department said.
"It's fabulous. You never get the full effect. This year we were in the middle so I got to see you through the hills, the people behind us and the people in front so it was really nice to see," Kontney said.
"That is the best part. The money's going to help the families with kids. The Harley group raises so much money around the world it's phenomenal for MDA," Coleman said.
The money this year will also help kids in the Wausau area with MD get wheelchairs.
