A 50-year-old Wausau man is charged with his 7th OWI in Chippewa County.
According to online court records, Kelly G. Powers was pulled over in Lake Hallie on March 21, after an officer noticed Powers swerving.
According to the Chippewa Herald, Powers told the officer he was swerving because he was examining repairs on his car's window. The complaint said the car he was driving moved from the left passing lane to the right travel lane, and then over the fog line of the road two times.
Powers also admitted to consuming three beers six hours earlier. A preliminary alcohol breath test showed .014.
Due to his previous OWI convictions, Powers cannot have a BAC over .002.
He is due in Chippewa County Court Thursday for a review hearing.
