A 25-year-old Wausau man with a history of domestic abuse is behind bars in the Marathon County Jail on allegations that he beat an adult family member repeatedly during a four-day period.
According to court documents, officers responded to a home on Fulton Street for a disturbance. They located the victim and described them as being covered in bruises. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
The victim stated there had been a history of physical abuse and called 911 “because [their] body could no longer take it.”
The suspect was arrested near the home after a short chase on foot.
He's been identified as David Hodge. He's been charged with false imprisonment, three counts of misdemeanor battery, three counts of disorderly conduct, and obstructing an officer.
He's behind bars on a $25,000 cash bond and will return to court on July 3.
