For the second straight season, the Lumberjacks are on the search for a new ball coach.
Wausau East Athletic Director Greg Harvey announced today Scott Maillen's resignation as the varsity football head coach, effective at the end of the 2013-2014 school year.
“Ultimately, the sacrifice that Scott made with regard to coaching football at Wausau East, and being apart from his family in Green Bay, was too much,” Harvey said in a press release. “He had to make a decision that was in the best interest of his family. Scott is an excellent teacher in the classroom and a fantastic football coach. He displayed a great desire to improve our program and our school by helping our entire student body. Wausau East is grateful for all that Scott gave us, and we wish him all the best as he moves on back to Green Bay.”
The Lumberjacks finished last season with a record of 1-8.
The search for a new head football will coach will begin immediately.
