UPDATE: Wed 1:57 PM, April 16, 2014

The anticipated vote on whether to pass a 1.65 private school enrollment multiplier did not happen Wednesday. Instead, a motion to create an ad hoc committee passed 352 to 77.

The committee will study the issue of school enrollment for divisional placement in state tournament competition.

A final recommendation will be sent to the WIAA Executive Committee by December 1; advancing to the 2015 Annual Meeting. Meaning any changes could be implemented for the 2015-2016 school year.

Wednesday was the annual WIAA meeting in Stevens Point. This year, members have a big decision to make about the conference structuring for private schools.

A petition signed by 66 different schools proposes a 1.65 enrollment multiplier to all private, religious, and independent schools.

If it's approved, the enrollment of the private schools will be multiplied by that number; causing them to jump to a higher division.
