You've probably seen at least of few of them now, new anti-smoking ads put out by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In it, a mother from Wisconsin describes how smoking cigarettes affected the birth of her daughter.

Amanda Brenden's daughter was born two months early and had to be kept in the NICU in Marshfield for weeks. She says she knew smoking cigarettes was dangerous for her unborn child, but she simply had a hard time quitting.

"I tried to quit multiple times but the addiction to nicotine was strong and I was not able to go more than a couple days without smoking,"
Amanda says, "it was a very stressful time in my life and I turned to cigarettes to relieve stress."

Amanda is now smoke free. She says her daughter, now 7-years-old, still suffers from asthma because of Amanda's addiction to cigarettes.
