Volunteers Return From Service Trip to West Indies

It was a tropical getaway to the West Indies for some people in our area, but the trip wasn't about rest and relaxation. It was about hard work and helping those in need.

The Good News Project sends volunteers to the West Indies every January and February. The organization says community building is one of their top priorities. Volunteers build homes, as well as work in schools and nursing homes.

"I think that the people who go on these trips experience a big change because it gives a perspective on your life and how blessed we are here," says Mike Husnick, Project Manager for Good News Project, who just returned from his first service trip.

Good News will send 100 volunteers to the West Indies this year. 2013 also marks their 30th anniversary as an organization.
