The Vilas County Sheriff's Office said a 14-year-old is expected to be charged in juvenile court with setting a small fire at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
The fire was reported just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, April 27. From the beginning, investigators called the fire suspicious.
Due the suspect's age, their identity will not be released.

A fire at a Vilas County church over weekend is being investigated as a vandalism case.
Deputies were called to Saint Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Eagle River around 1 a.m. Sunday morning for a fire alarm. When they arrived on scene they discovered someone forced their way in and caused even more damage.
Detective Charise Rozga-Anderson says photographs and crucifixes were damaged and a small fire was extinguished in an office.
"Further investigation revealed that forced entry on the north side of the church was made, and subsequent investigating showed that there was quite a bit of damage done to religious artifacts,” she explain.
The Eagle River Fire Department, Eagle River Police Department, Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police K-9 Unit and the Vilas County Sheriff's Office Responded to the Incident.
