UPDATE:

The dog, who has not yet been named, is doing much better, says the Humane Society of Vilas County Director. But there is no sign of who may be responsible.

"We're trying to ask around and see if anyone has any leads for us on who may have owned him," said Director, Jennifer Primich, "you don't know, the owner may not done this to him, he could have just been running loose like this for a while, he got away, they could be looking for him, I don't understand why it'd be put around his neck, but you never know what people are thinking."

If you know anything about the dog, you should call the Conservation Warden for Lac du Flambeau, Officer Risingsun. His number is 715-892-5009.

The Vilas County Humane Society says a 10-month-old stray puppy from Lac Du Flambeau needed immediate medical care after someone wrapped duct tape around its neck.

They say the puppy was taken to the Eagle River Animal Hospital to be sedated to have the tape removed. The humane society said on their Facebook page Tuesday night the tape was wrapped approximately three inches wide around the animal neck.

The humane society said the pup has a long road to recovery but appears to be friendly and good with other dogs.

The humane society said the pup still needs a name and has asked for suggestions on their Facebook page.
