Vigil to be Held for Victims of Rollover Crash

In response to the devastation of a deadly rollover crash last Friday, some of those who knew the victims in the crash will be holding a candlelight vigil at the 400 Block in Wausau on Monday night.

The rollover crash involved an SUV carrying 10 occupants, all minors. The SUV veered off Highway 52 between Mill and Rocky Road in the Town of Easton Friday morning.

The mother of one of the occupants said the group was headed to a park to picnic and swim. The highway was shut down for several hours.

Along the highway is a memorial to honor the victims. It includes flowers, a wreath, and a broken mirror from the SUV involved in the crash. A note saying "RIP" was left behind for the two victims confirmed dead. Evidence of where the crash took place can still be seen; such as broken tree limbs.

Reighlee Stevenson, 12 died at the scene. Deserae Landowski, 12, died the following day at an area hospital.

Family of the latest victim, Deserae Landowski tells us she was the oldest of five children, and leaves behind three sisters and one brother.
They describe her as a beautiful and outgoing young lady that always brought light to any room she entered. She was beloved by her family and friends and she will not be forgotten while we all will cherish every memory of her.

Donations can be made at Cloverbelt Credit Union’s Deserae Landowski’s fund c/o Kristin Landowski. Flowers can to go Peterson’s Funeral Home.

The vigil is expected to start around 8:30 PM. Organizers ask those who attend to bring candles, and extras to possibly share with others.
