Vietnam War Exhibit Brings Back Memories for Veterans

A unique exhibit on display at the Marathon County Historical Society is giving museum goers an in depth look at life in the military during the Vietnam War.

The Voyage to Vietnam exhibit displays sketches and sentences written by troops as they were on transport ships headed towards Vietnam.
They scribbled the messages on canvas bunk beds back in the 1960's.
Today, a number of veterans that were on the ship where the beds were taken from came to Wausau to see the exhibit.
For them, seeing the messages they wrote down brought to mind just how young they were when they were first deployed.

The exhibit will remain on display through February.
