Victim ID'ed in Monroe Co. Car vs. Train Accident

Monroe County authorities have identified the woman killed August 14th when her car was hit by a train.

Deputies say they received a call around 9 p.m. Sunday from the Canadian Pacific Railroad saying a train had hit a car at the crossing on Iberia Avenue in Town of Sparta. When emergency crews arrived at the scene they found a vehicle on the north side of the tracks with a female inside. Officers identified the victim as Tracy L. Ulteig, 37, of Sparta.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
