MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Tomah Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is planning a Memorial Day observance next week.
The public ceremony is set for May 23 on the front steps of Building 400 on the Tomah VA campus. The proceedings will move inside the Tomah VA chapel in case of rain.
The agenda calls for a keynote speech from Chief Warrant Officer 4 Tim Pickerill from Fort McCoy, a Tomah High School band performance, a bagpipe performance by Navy veteran John Elliot and a reading of the names of Wisconsin service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
