United Way Honors the Lives of Three

Dozens came out to the United Circle of Caring Memorial in Stevens Point to remember the legacy of three special people. Today, United Way unveiled three new names engraved in the memorial.

Joan Joerns, Edie Kraus and Sherry McHone were all honored for their support to the United Way Endowment. Each donated money to help support the United Way in their mission to bring people together and strengthen the community.

Fred Hebblewhite, director of resource development for United Way, said, "I knew all three of these people personally, so I thought this was a very important thing for us to do."

Each of the three honored have had very close ties with United Way. In fact, Edie Kraus was the first woman elected board president for the organization almost three decades ago.
