Students from all across the Midwest are on the UW-Stevens Point campus this week to learn and grow together as musicians.
High schoolers and graduating seniors get the opportunity to take daily lessons, learn about music theory and play with different musical ensembles.
"Music is a beatiful thing," said Cory Schreiner, who's traveled here from Illinois for the second year in a row. "You get to create a masterpiece with people you may never have met before and may never see again but you're creating something as a common goal and that in and of itself is something great."
Schreiner composes his own music on the piano and also plays trumpet and sings. He says the camp is one one of the most affordable and quality in the country. It costs $525 to attend and helps prepare students who want to pursue a degree in musical performance or education.
