This weekend, The UWMC Foundation invites people to sample gourmet food while helping students at UW-Marathon County reach their dreams of higher education. The foundation will host the 31st Annual Educational Assistance Through Scholarships or EATS program Saturday night.
Last year, the foundation raised nearly $26,000 to benefit students at the university.
Sunrise 7's Sean Caldwell spoke with Kristine McCaslin, Director of Auxiliary Services and chairperson of the EATS planning committee as well as Vickie Richmond Hawkins, UWMC Director of Continuing Education, who is also one of about 40 chefs taking part this year.
Live music will be performed and participants can take part in a silent auction to bid on dozens of items including a group training session at the Wausau Curling Club and a $1,000 gift certificate to Jim Kryshak Jewelers.
EATS takes place Saturday, March 1st from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the UWMC campus. Doors open at 6 p.m. to give people a look at the items up for bids in the silent auction.
Tickets are $40 dollars in advance or $45 dollars at the door, early registration is encouraged.
