The U.S. Army has donated 40 laptops to a Janesville school, whose computers hadn't been replaced in some 20 years.
In addition to providing the laptops, the army sent replacement parts, keyboards and hard drives.
The donation is worth an estimated $10,000 to $14,000.
When the army replaces its computers, it doesn't destroy the old ones, instead it donates them to schools.
Any school may apply for the program.
An army official says the military has distributed about 350 computers in the Tomah and Sparta areas in the past three years.
