A 69-year-old Michigan man has died as a result of a traffic accident over the weekend in Florence County.
According to WLUK-TV, Billy Cooper of Crystal Falls, Michigan died after he struck a tree after failing to stop for a stop sign near the intersection of State Highway 70 and State Highway 139 in the Town of Tipler, near Long Lake. Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened Sunday around 5:08 p.m.
Freezing rain appears to be a factor in the crash.
